Here are some pics of a project where I have to remove some part of the wood floors and replace it.Since the hardwood area was large and most of the wood floor did not effected, I have to make sure it will match the rest of it. At the end, the floor was done in a such way that it was impossible to see if there were any damage.

These are 7" wide prefinished engineered flooring glued over the slab.

Some new pictures

I did not find a time to update my blog for awhile.Since last entry I have done numerous projects. Here are the pics I have promised in my last blog.

We have just finished a quite large project in Windsor Road, Austin TX. I will be taking pictures right after the last coating applied and will show you details of true workmanship.

Leather Floors

In a few years, you will be walking into a new house and say " Ohh, another leather floor!". Leather flooring had been the choice of the wealthy in Europe and in USA for a while now, but because of cost and intensive workmanship required, it never made it to the most of the public. But it is all about to change; thanks to new technology, the leather flooring is made just like laminate floors manufactured, a layer of cork underlayment and a hdf(high density fiberboard) in the middle and natural leather on top. Of course the biggest question is "how durable is it?". It has the same top coat of Aluminium Oxide clear finish of laminates, so it is quite durable. In fact the German manufacturer gives 25 years limited warranty through it is North American distibuter. So welcome to the new world of leather flooring. A pdf format brochure is available for downloading in our website; http://www.designershardwood.com/Torlys_Leather_Brochure.pdf where you can see actual pictures of installed flooring as well as all the colors and designs available.
It is about the same cost of wood flooring.
Go ahead and enjoy the show.

Here is my favorite work that I have done.It is in Great Falls, VA. I had first supplied the materials for this project, later the GC asked me to install as his installer had not much experience.
